As many of you will know, funding for charities has become increasingly difficult to access over the past five years. Despite our best efforts, we haven’t been able to secure enough grant funding to fully support the Club over the past few years.
During this time, we’ve worked hard to strengthen our finances in other ways. We’ve successfully turned our main summer event from running at a loss into one that now generates a small annual profit, and we continue to have a strong track record of fundraising annually for our Assisted Places Fund. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and the care we take in managing the Club and our resources responsibly.
However, we still need support to cover our year-round costs outside of camp and to continue building long-term financial stability for The SSC. This stability is essential if we are to safeguard the future of the Club and continue supporting young people in the years ahead.
That’s why we’re inviting you to join us for a fundraising ceilidh on Saturday 5th September at Glasgow University Union - a night of great music, lively dancing, and brilliant company, all in support of The SSC.
We’ve created three ticket cost options - please choose how much you would like to pay for your ticket at check out.
You can pay £25, £40 or £60 for your ticket.
Each ticket covers the cost of entry to the ceilidh (including a welcome drink!) and a donation that directly supports the year-round running costs of the Club.
We’ve created the ticket options at different levels of costs so that everyone can afford to attend for a classic SSC evening of fun. If you are able to support the club by purchasing our £40 or £60 option and contributing a donation to our fundraising effort that would be much appreciated.
There’s also the option to add a donation when purchasing your ticket - or to donate separately if you’re unable to attend.
Whether you’re a seasoned ceilidh dancer or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome. With a live band and clear calling throughout the night, the energy will stay high and the dance floor full.
